After a fresh start to the New Year, it’s exciting to move into February.
We just endured a whopping blizzard here in Chicago, and there’s nothing like being snowed in to get me inspired to write!
So…why begin the month with fantastical butterflies and lofty dreams? I'm happy to dig into the heart and hit home.
The Truth.
The Whole Truth.
And Nothing But The Truth.
Isn’t it amazing how often we share with others: “I just want the truth.” “Just give me the facts.”
“The truth of the matter is….”
As we’ve lived life, many around us (and yes, we too) embellish, add to, spruce up, and adorn the “truth” with all kinds of extra information. Well, I thought it would be great to journey through the truth.
What is truth? Why is truth important? What does the bible say about truth? Why do I need and even demand the truth at times? Do I tell myself the truth?
Many of us can already answer the questions. Why do we want truth? Well, no one wants to be told lies. I know I sure don’t. I want the truth. I want to know truth.
“I am the way, the truth, and the life.” John 14:6
Jesus is The Truth, The Whole Truth.
“For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” John 1:17
{truth}: reality, accuracy, fact, correctness, actuality
Living in Christ means learning the truth and living in truth, living in reality, understanding what is true, actual, real, and authentic because Jesus is truth. Over the next month, I am excited to dive into truth and explore what the scriptures share about The Truth…..The Whole Truth.
Won’t you join me?
“Show me your ways, O LORD,
teach me your paths;
guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.” Psalm 25:4, 5 (emphasis mine)
